Sci21 Speaker Dr Kim Warren-Rhodes, NASA, USA
Kim Warren-Rhodes is a research scientist at NASA Ames Research Center and the SETI Institute. Her research focuses on microbial ecology and robotics in the driest deserts on Earth. She is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and was the first scientist to survey and study microbial rock ecosystems in the remote Taklimakan of China and to discover photosynthetic life in the hyperarid core of the Atacama. Her work with NASA also involves advancing robotic exploration and strategies to search for life on other planets such as Mars.
